Read the Pixel 11's spec sheet with your thumb over the model number and you are mostly reading the Google Pixel 10. Same 6.3-inch OLED, same 5x optical telephoto, same 30W charging, same IP68, same size to the tenth of a millimetre, and the same promise of 7 years of updates. The newer phone has a new main sensor, a newer chip, faster wireless charging and a longer zoom reach in software. The older one costs Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000 today, and the low end of that range is the whole review. At about Rs. 71,000 it is the sensible Pixel to buy. At its Rs. 79,999 launch price it is not.

1 phone, 2 prices, Rs. 9,000 apart.
Google launched the Pixel 10 in India on 20 August 2025 at Rs. 79,999, in a single 12GB + 256GB configuration. 14 months later, on 21 October 2026, one major retailer still lists it at exactly that figure. Another sells the same 12GB + 256GB phone for about Rs. 71,000.
That is not a rounding difference. It is the price of a good pair of earbuds, separating 2 listings of an identical phone. Everything below assumes you pay the lower one, because the verdict changes if you do not.
What a year bought the Pixel 11.
The Pixel 11 launched on 12 August 2026 at Rs. 89,999, and its base model sells for about Rs. 90,000 today. That is roughly Rs. 19,000 above the cheaper Pixel 10 listing. Here is every row where the 2 phones actually differ, and the longer list of rows where they do not.
The right-hand card is the argument. Most of the parts you touch every day, the screen in your hand, the zoom lens, the battery you watch at 6pm, are the same parts. The camera is where the year shows: Google says the Pixel 11's main sensor gathers 56% more light, a real change and the one row here we cannot weigh on paper, so we will not pretend to.
The honest cost of buying the older phone is time. 7 years from August 2025 runs to 2032; the Pixel 11's 7 years run to 2033. If you keep a phone until the updates stop, the Pixel 10 retires a year earlier. If you replace phones every 3 or 4 years, that year never arrives.
A real zoom lens, and a long runway.
The telephoto. A 10.8MP camera with 5x optical zoom and its own stabilisation in a phone this size. The 2 obvious rivals that undercut it by about Rs. 11,000 do not have one: the Galaxy S25 stops at 3x, and the OnePlus 15R has no telephoto at all. Think of the wedding where the photographer has the aisle and you have row 9. That is the shot a 5x lens is for.
The software promise. 7 years of Android versions and security patches, in writing, from the company that makes Android.
The magnets. Qi2 magnets are built into the phone, so magnetic chargers, stands and wallets attach without a special case. It is a small thing that becomes a daily one.
The screen. A 6.3-inch OLED rated to 3,000 nits peak, under Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Next to the 6.83-inch OnePlus 15R, it is the phone you can still use with one hand on a crowded train.
The battery is ordinary, and the box is empty.
Endurance. 4,970mAh charged at 30W was a modest pairing in 2025, and in a 2026 market full of 7,000mAh phones it is plainly behind. The OnePlus 15R carries 7,400mAh and charges at 80W for less money. If your day regularly ends with the battery in red, no camera is worth that.
No charger. The box has a cable and a SIM tool. Budget for a 30W adapter if you do not already own one.
No Battery Share. Earlier Pixels could top up earbuds or a friend's phone by placing them on the back. Google removed that from the Pixel 10 series, saying the new magnets get in the way.
Not a speed phone. The Tensor G5 is built around Google's photo and AI processing rather than raw performance. Snapdragon flagship chips sit in cheaper phones on this page, so if heavy gaming is the priority, this is the wrong tool.
Smaller omissions. No ultra-wideband, a single 256GB option, and satellite SOS is not offered in India even though the hardware supports it elsewhere.
Last year's flagship is a good buy when 3 things hold: the new model changed little you would use, the old one is still sold new, and the price gap is real. The Pixel 10 passes all 3 at about Rs. 71,000. At Rs. 79,999 the gap to the Pixel 11 halves to about Rs. 10,000, which is close to what a newer chip, faster wireless charging and an extra year of updates are worth. At that price, buy the newer phone.
Cheaper phones, different bargains.
About Rs. 11,000 below it sit 2 strong alternatives. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is smaller and lighter, runs a Snapdragon 8 Elite, and also promises 7 years of updates, but its battery is smaller still and its telephoto stops at 3x. The OnePlus 15R is the opposite phone: a 7,400mAh battery, 80W charging and a 165Hz screen, with no telephoto and a shorter update promise. Above it sits the Pixel 11, which is this phone with a year's polish. If you want a Pixel for less, the Pixel 10a is the cheaper way into the same software.
- You want a 5x optical zoom in a phone that fits a shirt pocket
- You value 7 years of updates and clean Android
- You can find it near Rs. 71,000
- You use magnetic chargers or accessories
- Battery life is your first complaint about phones
- You game heavily
- The only listing you can find is at Rs. 79,999
- You keep phones until the very last update
Buy, at the lower price. The Pixel 10 shares its screen, its 5x zoom lens, its battery, its body and its 7-year promise with the Pixel 11, and costs about Rs. 19,000 less. What the newer phone adds is a new main sensor, a faster chip, quicker wireless charging, a lighter body and an extra year of updates, which matter most to the buyer who keeps a phone to the end. For everyone else, about Rs. 71,000 buys most of what Google is selling this year for roughly Rs. 19,000 less. Pay Rs. 79,999 for it and you have given back most of the reason to choose it. And if battery life matters more than zoom, the 7,000mAh-class phones around Rs. 60,000, the OnePlus 15R among them, are the better buy for you.
Most of this year's Pixel, last year's badge. Worth it at the lower listing, not the launch price.
