Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Review: 200MP, IP69K, and a Mid-Range Phone That Wants to Win on Numbers

The Redmi Note 15 Pro is one of those phones that tries to make balance feel almost optional.

Xiaomi clearly wants buyers to read this phone as a hardware event first and a nuanced buying decision second. The 200MP camera, oversized battery, and wild durability stack are not accidental. They are the whole pitch.

That works because the phone still looks solid in the more normal areas too. It just does not quite avoid a few carefully placed corners being cut.

The AMOLED display is strong enough to support the phone's entire spec-heavy identity.

A 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, a sharp 1280 x 2772 resolution, and up to 3200 nits brightness gives the Note 15 Pro the kind of display it needed. Anything weaker would have made the whole spec flex feel suspicious.

Instead, the screen looks like a proper part of the value story. It feels premium enough that the rest of the phone's louder claims land more convincingly.

The Dimensity 7400 Ultra is good enough, but it is also where the sheet becomes less outrageous.

Dimensity 7400 Ultra is not a bad chipset. It just is not the kind of silicon that makes you stop and rethink the whole market the way some other parts of the Note 15 Pro's sheet do.

That is why UFS 2.2 matters here too. The phone is clearly positioned as a serious under-30K value weapon, so any part of the performance stack that looks merely fine rather than exciting becomes easier to notice.

The 200MP camera is the hook. The rest of the camera story is more restrained.

A 200MP + 8MP rear setup with OIS is exactly the sort of thing Xiaomi loves putting on a spec card because it is instantly persuasive. And at this price, fairly enough, it works.

The 20MP front camera is perfectly usable but not especially dramatic. This means the Note 15 Pro is a rear-camera flex phone first, not an all-directions imaging monster. That distinction matters.

The battery is big enough to feel premium. The charging is merely fine.

6580mAh is a very good battery number for a phone at Rs. 31,999. It helps the Note 15 Pro feel reassuring in a way buyers will actually notice every day.

The charging is where the sheet calms down. 45W is not painfully slow, but it is not especially exciting either, especially in a market where the phone is otherwise trying to look like an overachiever.

The durability package is so overbuilt it almost feels like a dare.

IP68 + IP66 + IP69K + IP69 is frankly absurd for this part of the market, and it is one of the phone's most persuasive advantages. Add NFC and stereo speakers, and the Note 15 Pro looks unusually complete where daily-use extras are concerned.

At 210.6 grams, though, it does carry some physical presence. This is not a phone that hides the hardware inside it.

The support promise is one of the reasons the value argument remains credible.

4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates is a good promise in this bracket. It helps the Note 15 Pro feel less like a short-term spec bargain and more like a phone Xiaomi expects buyers to keep.

That matters because phones built around attention-grabbing hardware need a decent long-term story too. This one has it.
