vivo V70 vs Motorola Signature: One Climbed to Rs. 60,000, One Started There
One of these phones climbed Rs. 14,000 to reach Rs. 60,000. The other started there and never moved. The vivo V70 launched in February at Rs. 45,999 and now lists at Rs. 59,999 after 3 rises. The Motorola Signature launched in January at Rs. 59,999 and still lists there. Both sell for about Rs. 60,000 today, and at the same money the Motorola brings a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 12GB of RAM, a 3x periscope, 50W wireless charging and 7 Android upgrades. The vivo answers with a bigger 6,500mAh battery, an IR blaster and a smaller body. For most buyers, the Signature is the better phone at this price.

A climb and a standstill, at the same Rs. 60,000.
In February, these 2 phones did not compete. The V70 launched at Rs. 45,999 for 8GB + 256GB, about Rs. 14,000 below the Signature. Then vivo raised the list price on 21 April, again in mid-June and again on 1 August, to Rs. 59,999, a rise of 30% on a phone that did not change. Motorola left the Signature at Rs. 59,999 the whole time. The sales in August took it briefly under Rs. 57,500 at major retailers, but the list price never moved.
So the comparison exists because of the price tags, not the phones. A reader with Rs. 60,000 today can have either, and the honest question is what each one does with the same money.
8GB + 256GB: Rs. 45,999 at launch on 19 February 2026, Rs. 49,999 from 21 April, Rs. 53,999 from mid-June, Rs. 59,999 from 1 August. Live listings match the current list today. The Motorola Signature has held at Rs. 59,999 for 12GB + 256GB since its 23 January launch.
A tier up on the chip, and 3 more Android versions.
The chip gap is a whole series. The Signature's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a 3nm chip from Qualcomm's 8 series; the V70's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is a solid 4nm mid-range part. On specification that gap is the largest on either phone, and the Signature backs it with 12GB of RAM against 8GB on the base model.
The update promise is the other big gap. Motorola promises 7 Android upgrades and up to 7 years of security updates, counted from the global launch on 7 January 2026. vivo promises 4 upgrades and 6 years. For a Rs. 60,000 phone that someone plans to keep, 3 more Android versions is the difference between a phone that stays current and one that stops at year 4.
The rest of the list leans the same way. The Signature's telephoto is a 3x periscope, and its ultra-wide is a 50MP unit with autofocus against the V70's 8MP. Its screen runs up to 165Hz on an LTPO panel. It adds 50W wireless charging, 10W reverse wireless, Wi-Fi 7 and a MIL-STD-810H drop rating on top of the IP68 and IP69 both phones carry. And it does all that in a body 0.6mm thinner and 8g lighter than the vivo.
More battery, a smaller body, and a remote control.
6,500mAh against 5,200mAh is 25% more battery, charged at the same 90W wired. If the phone's job is to last a long day of navigation and video, that is the V70's strongest argument, and it is a real one.
It is also the more compact phone. At 157.52mm tall and 74.33mm wide around a 6.59-inch screen, it is about 4.6mm shorter and 2mm narrower than the Signature. If the 6.8-inch class feels too big in one hand, that matters more than any spec row. Add an IR blaster for the television and air conditioner remotes, and a 3x telephoto with OIS of its own, and the V70 is a complete phone. It is simply not the stronger one at this money.
vivo quotes 5,000 nits as a local peak and Motorola quotes 6,200 nits as a peak lab figure. Neither publishes a comparable full-screen number, so the 2 figures do not measure the same thing and we have not ranked them.
Pick by what you will notice every day.
Pick the Motorola Signature if you want the faster chip, more memory, the longer update promise, wireless charging and the better camera set for the same money. It is our pick for most buyers. Read the full Motorola Signature review.
Pick the vivo V70 if battery life comes first, if you want a smaller phone, or if you use the IR blaster. Before you do, note that vivo has just launched the V80 on the same chip and camera set with a 7,200mAh battery, at a launch price of Rs. 62,999 for 8GB + 128GB; our vivo V80 launch report sets the 2 side by side.
Motorola Signature. At about Rs. 60,000 each, on published specification the Signature gives you an 8-series Snapdragon chip, 12GB of RAM, 7 Android upgrades, a periscope telephoto, wireless charging and a thinner, lighter body. The V70 is a good phone with a bigger battery and a smaller frame, but vivo's 3 price rises have walked it up to a price where it meets a stronger phone. Buy the V70 for battery and size. Buy the Signature for nearly everything else.
Same price, different journeys. The one that stood still is the one to buy.
Prices are for each phone's base model, read from live listings at major Indian retailers on 13 October 2026, and they sit within Rs. 1,000 of each other; launch and list prices are labelled as such and come from the makers' announcements and dated price-revision coverage. Specifications are confirmed against at least 2 independent sources each, led by the makers' own India specifications. Where sources disagreed, such as the V70's Wi-Fi generation and display glass, and the Signature's back material and submersion depth, we left the claim out. Our verdict is based on published specification, not hands-on testing: we have not held either phone.
